DFI TWLF51-EC-86X74 Intel Atom x7433RE 1.8″ Femto-ITX SBC with 8GB LPDDR5 Memory and -20 to 70 °C

Data loggers, protocol converters and small machine controllers rarely need eight cores, but they often sit in cabinets that go below freezing in winter. The TWLF51-EC-86X74 is the quad-core Amston Lake option in the DFI TWLF51 series, a 1.8″ Femto-ITX SBC rated from -20 to 70 °C.

The Intel Atom x7433RE runs four cores from 1.5 to 3.4 GHz at a 9 W TDP, a balance of headroom and heat for a sealed box. It is paired with 8 GB of soldered LPDDR5 at 4800 MHz and 64 GB of eMMC for the operating system and logged data, and DFI lists in-band ECC (IBECC) support on the Amston Lake builds. Intel UHD Graphics provides HDMI 2.0 output at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz for a local display or maintenance screen.

For field connections there is one RS-232/422/485 port and 8-bit DIO on internal headers, plus two internal USB 2.0 ports. The board edge carries two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and a GbE port on an Intel I210-IT controller, and an M.2 E-key 2230 socket can take a Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module for wireless backhaul or local configuration.

The TWLF51-EC-86X74 takes 12 V DC on a terminal block and operates from -20 to 70 °C, with Windows 11 IoT Enterprise and Linux support, a discrete TPM 2.0 and CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. Where the software needs more threads, the TWLF51-EC-86X78 doubles the count to eight cores at 12 W; for the lowest power in this temperature grade, the TWLF51-EC-86X72 runs two cores at 6 W.
