Which Countries Are TAA Compliant?

TAA-designated countries include the United States and a defined list of trade partners: WTO Government Procurement Agreement members such as the EU, UK, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, plus free-trade-agreement partners. Major manufacturing countries including China and Vietnam are not designated, so products made there are generally not TAA compliant.

The Short Answer

TAA-designated countries include the United States and a defined list of trade partners: WTO Government Procurement Agreement members such as the EU, UK, Canada, Japan, South Korea, and Taiwan, plus free-trade-agreement partners. Major manufacturing countries including China and Vietnam are not designated, so products made there are generally not TAA compliant.

02

How the List Is Defined

The designated-countries list lives in the Federal Acquisition Regulation and draws on the WTO Government Procurement Agreement, US free-trade agreements, the Caribbean Basin programme, and least-developed countries. It changes over time, so a live procurement should be checked against the list in force.
