Forecr DSBOARD-AGXS NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin Compact Carrier Boards with 10GbE and Extended Temperature

Robots, drones and compact inspection heads rarely have room for a carrier board larger than the compute module it carries, yet they still need fast networking and field I/O close to the sensors. The Forecr DSBOARD-AGXS series is a compact carrier board for the NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin built to the module’s own 87 x 100 mm footprint, so the board and module stack into the space of the module alone, weighing 72 g as a bare board.

Every DSBOARD-AGXS brings its interfaces out on locking Samtec board connectors rather than panel sockets, which keeps the stack small and holds cables in place under vibration. A 10G copper Ethernet port and a Gigabit Ethernet port sit on separate headers, and a high-speed connector carries three USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and a DisplayPort 1.4 output to a cable or Forecr’s breakout board. Field wiring covers two software-configurable RS-232/422/485 ports, two CAN FD ports, two digital inputs, two digital outputs and two PWM channels, with SPI, I2C and two UARTs on a separate header. Cameras connect through a 120-pin Samtec camera expansion slot that carries 6x 2-lane or 4x 4-lane MIPI CSI to an add-on board; GMSL2 cameras come through Forecr’s eight-channel GMSL2 add-on board, alongside a six-channel MIPI board and a six-channel analogue video board. Storage is an M.2 Key-M 2280 slot for a PCIe Gen4 x4 NVMe SSD, and an M.2 Key-B 3042 socket with a nano-SIM takes an LTE or 5G modem.

The series has three variants, split by the module we fit. The DSBOARD-AGXS-32GB carries the Jetson AGX Orin 32GB at 200 TOPS for multi-camera inference within a lower power budget. The DSBOARD-AGXS-64GB carries the 64GB module at 275 TOPS, with the memory for larger models and more streams. The DSBOARD-AGXS-IND carries the Jetson AGX Orin Industrial, the module NVIDIA rates for -40 to +85 °C operation, to match the board’s own temperature rating.

Power comes in at 12-36 V DC on a four-pin Molex Micro-Fit connector, and the carrier board is rated from -40 to +85 °C. A 6-axis IMU and a temperature sensor are on the board, the fan header runs at 11 V or 5 V, and Forecr lists Ubuntu 20.04 and 22.04 with JetPack 5.x and 6.x. The DSBOARD-AGXS series suits autonomous robots, drones, compact vision systems and smart-city sensors where the board has to fit the module’s footprint.
