Giada D614-U1 Intel Core Series 1 Digital Signage Media Players with Quad HDMI and 2.5GbE

Signage networks that push large video files to every screen, or refresh playlists several times a day, gain from faster memory and a faster wired link. The Giada D614-U1 series keeps the book-size chassis and four independent 4K HDMI outputs of the D614 and changes two things: DDR5-5200 memory in place of DDR4-3200, and a 2.5GbE port in place of GbE. It suits video walls, multi-zone menu boards and campus signage run from one player. The ports, outputs and chassis are otherwise the same as the D614, so the two series can share mounting, cabling and signage software across a mixed estate.

Two builds are offered on Intel Core Series 1 (Raptor Lake-U Refresh) processors at 15 W base power. The D614-U1-100U has the Core 3 100U with six cores and eight threads, and the D614-U1-120U has the Core 5 120U with ten cores and 12 threads. Intel Graphics supports DirectX 12.1, OpenGL 4.6 and OpenCL 3.0 and decodes 8K HEVC and VP9 content at 60 fps in hardware. Two DDR5-5200 SO-DIMM slots take up to 96 GB, and an M-Key M.2 2280 slot with PCIe 4.0 x4 holds the SSD.

Each HDMI port runs at up to 4096 x 2304 at 60 Hz, and an optional factory build replaces two of them with a DP1.4 output at up to 7680 x 4320. Networking is one 2.5GbE RJ45 port on an Intel i226-V controller. Other I/O covers a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A port, two USB 2.0 ports, an RS232 port and a headset jack. An E-Key M.2 slot takes an optional Wi-Fi 5, 6 or 6E card, and a B-Key slot with SIM takes an optional Quectel 4G or 5G module.

The D614-U1 series runs from a 19 V DC adapter and operates from 0 °C to 45 °C at 10 to 90% humidity (non-condensing), with CE, FCC Class B and UKCA marks. A watchdog timer, auto power on and RTC wake scheduling are built in, TPM 2.0 is optional, and an optional VESA kit mounts the player behind a display. Giada lists Windows 11 and Ubuntu for these signage media players. In practice these players suit retail, hospitality, corporate and transport signage indoors, wherever the screens run for long hours and are managed remotely. Both builds share the same chassis, ports and outputs, so a mixed estate can use one mounting and cabling plan.
