FLYC-300-EC-JON16 Overview
A companion computer on an open airframe needs its electronics covered and a way out for the antennas that keep it in contact with the ground. The FLYC-300-EC-JON16 is the enclosed 16GB build in the Neousys FLYC-300 series: a drone companion computer on the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB inside an enclosure at 345 g, with three antenna holes for its wireless links.
The Orin NX 16GB system-on-module pairs an NVIDIA Ampere GPU with Arm Cortex CPU cores and 16 GB of LPDDR5 at 3200 MHz, and Neousys quotes up to 100 TOPS for the series. That memory gives the FLYC-300-EC-JON16 room to run a multi-camera detection pipeline, obstacle avoidance and a navigation model side by side next to the flight controller. Where the model set is lighter, the FLYC-300-EC-JON8 offers the same enclosure with the 8GB module.
Two GMSL2 FAKRA Z inputs take two 1920 x 1080 cameras at 60 FPS or two 2880 x 1860 cameras at 30 FPS, and one GbE and one 2.5GbE port with one USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 3.2 Gen 1 port carry IP cameras, LiDAR, radar and USB sensors. Internal UART, CAN 2.0, I2C and isolated 2x DI and 4x DO connect the flight controller. Storage is an M.2 2230 NVMe socket on PCIe Gen4 x4 with a micro SD slot, and the M.2 B key socket with micro SIM takes a 4G or 5G module, with the enclosure’s antenna holes giving its antennas an exit.
An XT-30 connector accepts 12 V to 60 V DC, so the FLYC-300-EC-JON16 runs directly from 4S to 14S battery packs. It operates from -25 °C to 40 °C without heat spreader attachment, to 60 °C with the heat spreader secured to an aluminium surface, and to 70 °C on that mount with 4S to 6S packs; sub-zero operation needs a wide temperature SSD. Vibration and shock are tested in operation to MIL-STD-810H, with EN 62368-1 safety and CE and FCC Class A EMC, so this drone companion computer suits imagery collection, infrastructure monitoring and autonomous navigation payloads.

Official Neousys UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Neousys UK distributor, and the Neousys Jetson range runs from airborne units like the FLYC-300 to fixed video analytics systems. The NRU-220S moves perception work to NVIDIA Jetson AGX Orin AI NVRs for video analytics, and the NRU-150-FT places the same Jetson Orin NX in a flattop fanless edge AI computer.
Across our categories, the FLYC-300-EC-JON16 sits with our Jetson Orin NX computers and edge AI computers, and its CAN 2.0 link to the autopilot places it among our Jetson CAN bus computers. Where a drone needs the 16GB module and a covered board, this is the FLYC-300 build to shortlist.
