Neousys NRU-51V NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX and Xavier NX Rugged Embedded Computers with 4x GMSL2 Cameras

The Neousys NRU-51V series is a family of rugged fanless Jetson computers built as GMSL2 camera hubs for autonomous vehicles, robots and teleoperation. Each takes four GMSL2 automotive cameras with synchronised capture, and adds 10GbE, isolated CAN, isolated DIO, GPS PPS and 4G or 5G expansion on 8 to 35 V DC. Choose the NRU-51V+ with Jetson Orin or the NRU-51V with Xavier NX.

  • Four Synchronised GMSL2 Cameras: Four FAKRA Z inputs capture within microseconds of each other, with a GPS PPS input to align frames with LiDAR.
  • Jetson Orin or Xavier NX: Orin NX or Orin Nano on the NRU-51V+, or Xavier NX with 16 GB eMMC on the NRU-51V, with JetPack bundled.
  • 10GbE for Raw Camera Data: A 10GBASE-T port sends raw frames to a GPU server, beside a 1GbE port, both with screw locks.
  • Isolated CAN, DIO and Serial: An isolated CAN 2.0 port, three isolated inputs, four isolated outputs and an RS-232/422/485 port for vehicle I/O.
  • 4G, 5G and Wide DC Input: An M.2 B key socket for 4G or 5G with dual SIM, and 8 to 35 V DC with ignition control.

NRU-51V Description

An autonomous vehicle, an AMR or a remote-driven machine sees the world through several cameras at once, and the images are only useful if they are captured together and time-stamped against the LiDAR and GNSS. The Neousys NRU-51V series is a rugged fanless Jetson computer built as that camera hub: four GMSL2 automotive camera inputs on FAKRA Z connectors, a synchronisation scheme that captures all four within microseconds of each other, and a GPS PPS input to align image data with LiDAR or with cameras on other systems.

GMSL2 carries video from IP67 automotive cameras over a single coaxial cable, with features such as 120 dB HDR, auto white balance and LED flicker mitigation, so images stay usable from bright sun to darkness. Raw frames can go out over the 10GBASE-T port to a GPU server for perception, or be processed on board, and the hardware H.264/H.265 encoder can stream all four cameras live over 5G to a remote driver.

There are two versions. The NRU-51V+ runs an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX (8 or 16 GB LPDDR5) or Orin Nano (4 or 8 GB), with JetPack 5.1.1 and a 128 GB M.2 2242 NVMe SSD fitted through a mini PCIe adapter. With the Orin NX 16 GB it delivers 100 TOPS in a 25 W power envelope. The NRU-51V runs the Jetson Xavier NX with 8 or 16 GB LPDDR4x, 16 GB of eMMC on the module and JetPack 4.6.1.

Both share a 10GbE and a 1GbE port with screw locks, two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, a DisplayPort output at 3840 x 2160, an RS-232/422/485 port and an isolated CAN 2.0 port on DB9, and three isolated inputs, four isolated outputs and the GPS PPS input on a DB15. Two full-size mini PCIe sockets take NVMe, GNSS, V2X or CAN modules, and an M.2 B key socket with two micro SIM slots takes a 4G or 5G module. Power is 8 to 35 V DC with ignition control. The series runs fanless from -25 °C to 60 °C at 15 W, or to 70 °C with the optional fan kit, and meets MIL-STD-810H for vibration and shock.

Official Neousys UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Neousys UK distributor, and we supply the NRU-51V series configured and tested: the Jetson module, NVMe SSD, 4G or 5G module, antennas, mounting kit and JetPack image are fitted before the unit ships. Within the Neousys Jetson range, the NRU-52S series uses the same chassis with four PoE++ ports for IP cameras in place of GMSL2, and the NRU-160-FT series takes six GMSL2 cameras on M12 and FAKRA Z connectors in a flat-top case. For larger camera counts, the NRU-230V-AWP runs eight GMSL2 cameras on a Jetson AGX Orin in a sealed IP66 case for outdoor work.

Across our range, the NRU-51V series sits with our rugged Jetson computers, our in-vehicle computers and our rugged mini PCs.
