PCIe-NX156-JON16 Overview
AOI systems built around USB cameras often need deep-learning inspection, but the host was never sized for it. The PCIe-NX156-JON16 adds that capacity and the camera ports through one slot. It is the 16GB build in the Neousys PCIe-NX156 series, an AI frame grabber card with an onboard NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX 16GB module and six USB 3.2 camera ports.
Two USB 3.2 Gen2 ports run at 10 Gbps and four USB 3.2 Gen1 ports at 5 Gbps, all Type-A. Each port supplies up to 1500 mA, with a user-configurable 900 mA or 1500 mA limit, and software can switch power per port. The card fits a standard PCIe x4 slot and communicates with the host over Gen2 x1 signals, which Neousys rates at 2.5 Gb/s total bandwidth. Image capture, pre-processing and inference run on the card, using minimal host resources.
The Jetson Orin NX 16GB module has 16GB LPDDR5 at 3200 MHz, an Ampere GPU and an Arm Cortex CPU, bundled with JetPack, and Neousys rates the card at 100 INT8 TOPS from 1024 CUDA cores, 32 Tensor cores and 2 NVDLA engines. Neousys names package inspection, object sorting, surface defect detection, assembly verification and robotic guidance. The PCIe-NX156-JON8 uses the 8GB module, the PCIe-NX154-JON16 offers four PoE+ ports instead, and the PCIe-USB381F gives eight USB3 ports without onboard AI.
The card operates from -25 to 60 °C with airflow in 20W TDP mode, without throttling at 60 °C; a wide-temperature NVMe is required below 0 °C or above 60 °C. Storage is -40 to 85 °C. It is a single-slot, half-length card of 167.7 x 111 mm weighing 0.4 kg. One RS-232 and one isolated RS-485 port sit on the card, alongside Gigabit Ethernet, two USB 2.0 ports, micro USB OTG and a 4K60 DisplayPort. A 12 V DC input covers standalone development or loads above 66 W. It supports Windows and Linux hosts, with CE and FCC Class A to EN 55032 and EN 55035.

Official Neousys UK Distributor
Things Embedded is an official Neousys UK distributor, supplying the PCIe-NX156-JON16 for UK inspection and factory automation programmes. Within the Neousys range the PCIe-USB381F gives eight USB3 camera ports where the host runs the AI, and the PCIe-NX154 series pairs the same module with four PoE+ ports.
With six USB 3.2 ports and onboard inference, the PCIe-NX156-JON16 sits among our USB 3 frame grabbers, our frame grabber cards and our PCIe video capture cards. Where USB cameras need deep-learning inspection without a new host, this is the build to specify.
