Nexcom APPD 1501T 15″ Flush Resistive Touch Industrial Monitor with 2500:1 XGA LCD and Front IP65

Operators often read a machine screen from the side, from a walkway or over a colleague’s shoulder, so the image has to hold its contrast well off-axis. The APPD 1501T is the 15 inch model in Nexcom’s APPD range of flush touch monitors, with the highest contrast and widest viewing angles of the four: a 15 inch industrial touch monitor with a 1024 x 768 XGA LCD at 400 nits behind a flush 5-wire resistive touch panel, set in an IP65-compliant front bezel for panel mounting.

The 15 inch LED-backlit LCD runs at 1024 x 768 (XGA) with 400 nits brightness, a 2500:1 contrast ratio and viewing angles of 176° horizontally and 176° vertically, showing 16.7 million colours. The flush 5-wire resistive touch panel has 81% light transmission and connects to the host over USB or RS-232, so it works with current industrial PCs and with controllers that expect a serial touch interface.

Video inputs are VGA on a DB15 connector, DVI-D on a DVI-I connector and DisplayPort, which lets the APPD 1501T take a feed from older controllers with analogue output as well as current computers. An OSD keypad with a multilanguage on-screen menu sets the picture on site. Nexcom names it as a second display for its NISE fanless computers, NViS surveillance systems and APPC panel PCs. Within the range, the APPD 1206T is the 12.1 inch version at 500 nits for tighter enclosures.

Power is 12 to 24 V DC on a three-pin Phoenix terminal block, with an optional 12 V 60 W AC/DC adapter. The APPD 1501T operates from -5 to 50 °C at 10 to 90% humidity, non-condensing, is shock-tested to 20 G under IEC 68-2-27 when wall mounted and vibration-tested from 5 to 500 Hz, and carries CE and FCC Class B marks. It measures 384.37 x 309.95 x 51 mm, weighs 3.9 kg and fits a 371 x 297 mm cut-out in panels up to 5 mm thick, with wall, stand and 100 x 100 mm VESA mounting as alternatives.
