Sintrones SBOX-2622 Intel Tiger Lake Fanless Embedded PC with 4x COM, 2.5GbE and 9-36V DC Input

Cabinets on a production line often hold more serial devices than network ones: barcode readers, scales, PLCs and older controllers that still talk RS-232 or RS-485. The Sintrones SBOX-2622 is a fanless embedded PC with four RS-232/422/485 ports and a 9 to 36 V DC input, so it can run from a 24 V cabinet supply and connect to that equipment directly. Sintrones also positions it for kiosks, smart retail and service robots.

Inside is an Intel 11th Gen Core processor: Core i7-1185G7E with four cores and eight threads up to 4.4 GHz, Core i5-1145G7E, Core i3-1115G4E or Celeron 6305E. TDP is set at 15 W by default and can be configured between 12 W and 28 W. Memory is one DDR4 SO-DIMM socket up to 32 GB, a TPM 2.0 is fitted, and two HDMI 2.0b ports and a single-link DVI-D give three display outputs.

Alongside the four COM ports, the SBOX-2622 has one Intel 2.5GbE and one Intel GbE port, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 ports, and a GPIO port with four inputs and four outputs at 5 V TTL. An M.2 Key B socket with two SIM slots takes an optional 5G or LTE modem, an M.2 Key E socket takes optional Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and a USB 2.0 mini PCIe slot with its own SIM slot suits the optional CAN bus module. Storage is a 2.5″ SATA drive plus an M.2 2280 socket for NVMe or SATA. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, storage, the OS image and modules fitted.

The DC input has reverse polarity, over-current and over-voltage protection. The SBOX-2622 runs from -30 °C to 60 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, carries CE and FCC Class A, and weighs 1.75 kg in an aluminium case of 210 x 171 x 50 mm including the wall bracket, with optional VESA and DIN rail kits. The SBOX-2602 is the two-COM version on 12 V DC, and the VBOX-3123-R2312 pairs four COM ports with vehicle power on AMD Ryzen Embedded.
