Sintrones VBOX-3122 Intel 11th Gen Core i7/i5/i3 Rugged Vehicle PC with 2.5GbE, Digital I/O and 9-60V DC Input

Many vehicle jobs come down to reading a few sensors, logging position and sending data home over a cellular link, from a unit small enough for a cab console. The Sintrones VBOX-3122 is a rugged vehicle PC sized for that work, at 210 x 171 x 54 mm with its mounting kit, with two analogue inputs alongside digital I/O and wide-range 9 to 60 V DC power.

It runs on Intel 11th Gen Core: the Core i7-1185G7E with four cores and eight threads up to 4.4 GHz, or the i5-1145G7E, i3-1115G4E or Celeron 6305E. TDP is set at 15 W by default, configurable from 12 W to 28 W. One DDR4-3200 SO-DIMM socket takes up to 32 GB, a TPM 2.0 is on board, and the integrated Iris Xe or UHD graphics drive two HDMI 2.0b ports and one single-link DVI-D.

The VBOX-3122 has one Intel 2.5GbE and one Intel GbE port, two RS-232/422/485 ports, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 2.0 ports, four digital inputs (9 to 60 V), four digital outputs and two analogue inputs for 0 to 60 V with 0.5 V accuracy. An M.2 Key B socket with two SIM sockets takes an optional 5G or LTE modem, an M.2 Key E socket takes optional Wi-Fi 6, and two mini PCIe slots suit an optional GPS or CAN module. Storage is a 2.5″ SATA drive plus M.2 2280 NVMe. We supply it configured and tested, with memory, storage, the OS image and any modules fitted.

Power is 9 to 60 V DC with ignition management and a power-off delay set in the BIOS. An optional internal battery kit gives about 10 minutes of operation, with the operating range then 0 °C to 55 °C. Without it, the VBOX-3122 runs from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, with MIL-STD-810G vibration and shock ratings, E-Mark compliance and CE and FCC Class A.
