Sintrones VBOX-3630P Intel Tiger Lake In-Vehicle PC with 4x PoE LAN, 4x COM and Quad Display

On buses and trucks, every extra PoE injector or switch is another box to mount, power and fault-find. The Sintrones VBOX-3630P puts PoE on all four of its RJ45 ports, with a 60 W total budget, so IP cameras or other powered devices can run straight from the in-vehicle PC. It is the PoE build of the VBOX-3630 series, with four COM ports and quad display.

Processor options are the Intel Core i7-1185G7E (four cores, eight threads, up to 4.4 GHz), the i5-1145G7E (up to 4.1 GHz), the i3-1115G4E (two cores, up to 3.9 GHz) and the Celeron 6305E (two cores, 1.8 GHz). They run at 15 W TDP, configurable from 12 W to 28 W, with up to 64 GB of DDR4-3200 across two SO-DIMM sockets. Iris Xe graphics on the i7 and i5, or UHD graphics on the i3 and Celeron, drive two HDMI 2.0b ports, a DisplayPort and a single-link DVI-D.

For mobile DVR work, recordings can sit on two 2.5″ SATA drives in RAID 0 or RAID 1, with an M.2 2280 NVMe socket for the operating system. The PoE ports are one 2.5GbE and three GbE. The VBOX-3630P also has four RS-232/422/485 ports, six digital inputs, four digital outputs, four USB ports, two M.2 Key B sockets with two SIM sockets for optional 5G or LTE, an M.2 Key E socket for optional Wi-Fi 6, and two mini PCIe slots for optional GPS or CAN. We supply it configured and tested, with drives, memory, the OS image and any modules fitted.

Input is 9 to 60 V DC with ignition control. The VBOX-3630P runs from -40 °C to 70 °C with 0.6 m/s airflow, and an optional battery kit covers around 10 minutes of operation at 0 °C to 60 °C. Sintrones lists E-Mark, CE and FCC Class A, and designs it to EN 50155 and EN 45545-2 (R25) requirements, with MIL-STD-810G vibration and shock ratings. The aluminium case measures 250 x 165 x 55 mm for wall mounting. The VBOX-3630 is the same computer without PoE, and the VBOX-3630P-M12X brings PoE to M12 connectors.
