Vecow AIC-100 NXP i.MX 6ULL Arm IoT Gateway with 512MB NAND Flash, Dual LAN, Two RS-232/485 Ports and Wide Temperature

Energy meters, chargers and building controllers often only need a small, low-power box to collect serial data and send it upstream. The Vecow AIC-100 is the entry build of the AIC-100 series, an Arm IoT gateway on the NXP i.MX 6ULL with two LAN ports, two serial ports and 512 MB of NAND flash, sized for that kind of data collection.

The NXP i.MX 6ULL is a single Arm Cortex-A7 core at 900 MHz with 512 MB of DDR3L, which keeps power low, at a typical 12 V DC and 500 mA. The AIC-100 ships with Debian Stretch R01 on Linux kernel 4.9, supports Python, NodeJS and the Node-RED browser-based flow editor, and stores the OS on 512 MB of NAND flash, with a micro SD socket for SDHC cards up to 128 GB.

I/O covers two 10/100 Ethernet ports on RJ45, one USB 2.0 Type A port and two RS-232/485 serial ports on a terminal block. Isolated DIO and CAN bus are not fitted on this model. A full-size mini PCIe socket with a nano SIM slot takes an optional 4G LTE and GPS module, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module or LoRaWAN module, with three antenna positions.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC on a three-pin terminal block, and the AIC-100 runs from -25 °C to 70 °C with no fan, with shock and vibration tested to IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-64. The EMC list covers CE and FCC, and the gateway is designed to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 requirements. It wall-mounts on a bracket or fits an optional DIN rail kit. The AIC-100A adds 32 GB of eMMC, and the AIC-110 adds isolated DIO and CAN bus.
