Vecow AIC-110 900 MHz NXP i.MX 6ULL Arm IoT Gateway with 12 Isolated DIO, Dual CAN Bus and -25 to 70 °C

Charging stations and plant equipment often combine serial meters, dry contacts and a CAN bus, which can mean a gateway plus an I/O module. The Vecow AIC-110 is the I/O build of the AIC-100 series, an Arm IoT gateway on the NXP i.MX 6ULL that adds 12 isolated digital I/O channels and two CAN bus ports in the same small case.

The NXP i.MX 6ULL is a single Arm Cortex-A7 core at 900 MHz with 512 MB of DDR3L, which keeps power low, at a typical 12 V DC and 500 mA. The AIC-110 ships with Debian Stretch R01 on Linux kernel 4.9, supports Python, NodeJS and the Node-RED browser-based flow editor, and stores the OS on 512 MB of NAND flash, with a micro SD socket for SDHC cards up to 128 GB.

I/O covers two 10/100 Ethernet ports on RJ45, one USB 2.0 Type A port and two RS-232/485 serial ports on a terminal block. The 12 isolated DIO channels, eight inputs and four outputs, sit on a 20-pin terminal block, and two CAN 2.0 A/B ports sit on a six-pin terminal block. A full-size mini PCIe socket with a nano SIM slot takes an optional 4G LTE and GPS module, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth module or LoRaWAN module, with three antenna positions.

Power is 9 to 50 V DC on a three-pin terminal block, and the AIC-110 runs from -25 °C to 70 °C with no fan, with shock and vibration tested to IEC 60068-2-27 and IEC 60068-2-64. The EMC list covers CE and FCC, and the gateway is designed to EN 50155 and EN 50121-3-2 requirements. It wall-mounts on a bracket or fits an optional DIN rail kit. The AIC-110A adds 32 GB of eMMC, and the AIC-100 drops the DIO and CAN for a lower case.
