ViviSign SD17M 17" Anti-Glare Square Displays with 1920 x 1920 Native Square LCD

Square artwork is common in museums, exhibitions and retail, from object labels to product and social-format promotions, but a 16:9 screen shows it framed by black bars or crops it. The ViviSign SD17M series answers that at the compact end of the range: a family of 17 inch Square Displays with a 1920 x 1920 native square LCD, so 1:1 content fills the screen at full resolution. As the smallest square in the ViviSign range, it suits closer viewing distances, where visitors stand near the screen to read it.

The series is built on AUO Tartan technology, a native square LCD rather than a widescreen panel cut down to size, with a 305.28 x 305.28 mm active area and a narrow bezel. It shows 16.7 million colours at 72% NTSC, with 350 nits, a 1000:1 contrast ratio and 178° viewing angles horizontally and vertically in a normally black AHVA display mode. The A.R.T. anti-glare surface cuts reflections from spotlights and shop lighting. The panel is rated for 24/7 operation, with an LED backlight life of at least 50,000 hours, which suits signage that runs through opening hours every day.

The SD17M is the HDMI monitor build. It takes one HDMI input, with one USB port and one audio output, and shows content from an external media player or PC. That keeps playback on hardware the site already manages, and the audio output allows sound to accompany exhibit or promotional video. Where a built-in Android player is needed, the larger SD22M series offers one as a separate build of the same 1920 x 1920 format.

Power comes from an external 100 to 240 V AC, 50/60 Hz supply delivering 12 V DC, and the SD17M draws 26 W. It operates from 0 °C to 40 °C at 10 to 80% humidity, suiting indoor, climate-controlled spaces. The display measures 330.8 x 324.34 x 24.5 mm and weighs 4.6 kg, with a mounting bracket available as an option. ViviSign names museums, exhibition halls, shopping malls and supermarkets as the intended settings for the series, where a compact 1:1 screen shows square artwork without cropping.
