Winmate FM12Q-V 12.1″ IP65 Android Vehicle Mount Computer with Qualcomm Snapdragon 660

Fleets that have standardised on Android for handhelds and tablets can keep one app build, one management tool and one set of training by putting Android on the vehicles too. The FM12Q-V is Winmate’s 12.1 inch Android vehicle computer, running on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 in an IP65 housing.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 is an octa-core processor running at up to 2.2 GHz under Android 9.0, which suits fleets that already run Android scanning, picking and delivery apps on handhelds. It carries 3 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage with a microSD slot for maps, logs and offline data. The 12.1 inch 4:3 display runs at 1024 x 768 with 400 nits as standard and 800 nits as an option, 1000:1 contrast and 178° viewing. Projected capacitive multi-touch works with a stylus and with gloves, and five programmable function keys run down the right-hand bezel within reach of the driver’s thumb.

I/O covers a Gigabit LAN port that can be specified as a 30 W IEEE 802.3at PSE to power a camera, USB Type-C and USB 2.0 ports, and two RS-232/422/485 ports on DB9 with 5 V on pin 9 for serial scanners, with CANBus and two-in, two-out DIDO as options. Wi-Fi and Bluetooth are built in, with 4G/LTE on a dual nano-SIM slot and GPS/GLONASS as options. The FM12E-V is the Windows version on an Intel Atom, and the FM10Q-V runs the same Android build on a smaller 10.4 inch screen.

Power is 10 to 60 V DC with ignition control, covering 12, 24 and 48 V vehicle supplies. An optional 400 mAh UPS battery keeps the computer running for 20 minutes when the vehicle supply drops out. The IP65 waterproof and dustproof enclosure measures 307 x 225 x 57 mm, weighs 2.5 kg and fits RAM or VESA mounts. It operates from -30 to 50 °C at 5 to 95% humidity, is compliant with MIL-STD-810H Methods 516.8 and 514.8, and carries an IK07 impact rating. The unit carries CE and FCC marks.
