12G-SDI to SDVoE-F Overview
Getting a 4K source to a screen in another room or building usually means a long cable run. The 12G-SDI to SDVoE-F is Yuan’s 12G-SDI SDVoE encoder for the source end of a fixed fibre link: it takes one 12G-SDI input from cameras and switchers and sends it onto a 10G Ethernet network as SDVoE. Yuan describes SDVoE as lossless and zero-latency, which typically suits pro AV and live production work.
The input accepts 12G-SDI at 4096 x 2160 and 3840 x 2160 up to 60 fps, 6G-SDI at the same resolutions up to 30 fps, 3G-SDI at 1080p60 and HD-SDI at 1080p30, 1080i and 720p60. The SDVoE output is one SFP+ port for 10G fibre. Analogue L/R audio travels in both directions through a stereo phone jack, and IR and RS232 share the link, so a remote or control system at either end can reach the equipment.
A separate RJ45 port handles control, and one USB port connects to the source PC for USB HID extension. The unit runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input in a rugged case and is plug and play. The SDVoE to 12G-SDI-F is the matching receiver on the same fibre link, and the 12G-SDI to SDVoE V2 switches between copper and fibre in one unit and adds PoE power.
