HDMI to SDI Audio Embedder Overview
When an HDMI camera or laptop feeds an SDI system, the sound that matters often comes from somewhere else, such as a mixing desk or digital audio console. The Yuan HDMI to SDI Audio Embedder is an audio embedder that converts HDMI to SDI and embeds that external audio, which suits broadcast, live events and lecture capture.
Video input is one HDMI connection accepting 1920x1080p at 60/50 and 30/25/24 fps, 1080i, 720p, 480i and 576i. A stereo jack accepts L/R analogue audio, AES-3 and S/PDIF. Outputs are two SDI connections in the input format, covering 3G, HD and SD-SDI. HDMI audio of up to eight channels at up to 192 kHz and two channels of external audio at 48 kHz are embedded into SDI at up to eight channels, 24-bit, 48 kHz.
The HDMI to SDI Audio Embedder has HDMI EDID learning and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. If you need balanced XLR input and scaling, the HDMI to SDI-S Audio Embedder adds both. To pull the audio out again at a monitoring point, the SDI to HDMI Audio De-Embedder outputs L/R, AES-3 and S/PDIF.
Yuan publishes no operating temperature or certification for this unit, so plan for indoor use. We can also supply spare units for critical signal paths and advise on mounting and power in the rack, so the installation is ready before you go live. We supply the HDMI to SDI Audio Embedder configured and tested with the sources, audio feeds and network it will connect to.
