Yuan HDMI to SDI-S HDMI to SDI Converter with Up/Down Scaling and Dual SDI Outputs at 1080p60

The HDMI to SDI-S is Yuan's HDMI to SDI converter with up/down scaling, interlace handling and frame rate conversion, two converted SDI outputs and an OSD menu. It suits bringing HDMI cameras, laptops and players into SDI systems at the format the system runs.

HDMI to SDI-S Overview

Presenter laptops and HDMI cameras rarely output the exact format an SDI system runs at, and PC resolutions will not pass through SDI at all. The Yuan HDMI to SDI-S is an HDMI to SDI converter that scales the source to the house format, typically for live events, lecture capture and broadcast.

Input is one HDMI connection accepting 1920x1080p at 60/50 and 30/25/24 fps, 1080i, 720p, SD and VESA PC formats from 640×480 to 1280×1024. Outputs are two SDI connections, up/down converted to 1080p 60/50, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24, 1080i and 720p, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Built-in interlacer, de-interlacer, 60 to 59.94 fps and frame rate conversion are included. HDMI audio of two channels, 24-bit, up to 192 kHz is embedded into SDI at 48 kHz.

The HDMI to SDI-S is set up with buttons and an OSD menu and runs from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input. If no scaling is needed, the HDMI to SDI converts in the input format with EDID learning. Where the output must lock to house sync, the HDMI to SDI Genlock adds a reference input and frame synchroniser.

Yuan publishes no operating temperature or certification for this unit, so plan for indoor use. We can also supply spare units for critical signal paths and advise on mounting and power in the rack, so the installation is ready before you go live. We supply the HDMI to SDI-S configured and tested with the sources, displays and SDI routing it will connect to.
