PD570 PRO HDMI2.0 HDR Overview
A 4K camera or high refresh computer output is hard to capture on a laptop, where there is no slot for a PCIe card. The PD570 PRO HDMI2.0 HDR is Yuan’s USB HDMI video capture device for HDMI 2.0, taking 4K60 and 1080p240 sources with HDR and delivering them to the host over USB 3.0 Type-C. It suits 4K recording, review and streaming on portable or compact systems.
The HDMI 2.0 input accepts up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 or 50 fps and up to 1920 x 1080 at 240 or 200 fps, with HDR input listed as 4:2:2 10-bit and 4:4:4 8-bit. Yuan’s ProAV scaler converts what USB 3.0 can carry: 4K60 and 1080p240 inputs are delivered at 3840 x 2160 and 30 fps in NV12 or I420, or at 1920 x 1080 and 60 fps in YUY2 or P010. Inputs at or below 3840 x 2160 at 30 fps, or 1920 x 1080 at 120 fps, pass through at their own format. Audio comes from the HDMI signal or a 3.5 mm stereo input at 16-bit, 48 kHz.
The capture card is an external USB unit that presents itself as a UVC device over a USB 3.0 Type-C connection. On a USB 2.0 port it still works, with output reduced to 640 x 480 at 30 or 25 fps, or 720 x 576 and 720 x 480 at 25 fps. The PD576 HDMI20 HDR is a further USB capture card for HDMI 2.0 with 4K30 output, and the PD570 PRO HDMI covers HDMI sources up to 1920 x 1200 at 60 fps.
Yuan lists Windows 7, Windows 8, Windows 8.1 and Windows 10 in 32-bit and 64-bit editions, plus Linux and macOS, so the card moves between capture hosts without a hardware change. Yuan’s model page does not state dimensions or an operating temperature range, so ask us where the card will be built into an enclosure.
