Yuan SC400N1-L HDAV PCIe HDMI Frame Grabber with 1080p60 Input

Sites that are moving to HDMI cameras often still have composite or S-Video equipment in service, from older cameras to microscopes and test gear, and the recording PC has to take both. The SC400N1-L HDAV is Yuan’s low profile PCIe HDMI frame grabber for that transition, with HDMI, CVBS and S-Video inputs on one card.

The card has a single capture channel and accepts HDMI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, plus composite and S-Video sources. Audio arrives as one stereo embedded channel. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2, and YV12 and NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software can take frames in the format it already uses. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing. There is no hardware encoder, so any compression runs in software on the host.

The card runs PCIe x1 Gen2 and adds 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog. Yuan supplies a Windows and Linux SDK for custom applications, and the card works with DirectShow and V4L2 software; Yuan’s compatibility list names vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams, Discord, Slack, Cisco Webex and GoToMeeting. The SC400N1-L AIO swaps the analogue connectors for SDI and DVI-I on a low profile card, and the SC400N2-L HDMI captures two HDMI sources at 1080p60.

Yuan lists driver support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. Yuan lists multi-instance and multi-device support for systems that run more than one capture session or card. The card measures 100 x 68.87 mm and is listed by Yuan as low profile PCIe, so it suits slim desktop and rackmount chassis.
