SC540N1 M2 HDMI (A/E) Overview

Small computers and Jetson carriers often keep their B/M-key sockets for storage, leaving an A/E-key socket free. The SC540N1 M2 HDMI (A/E) is Yuan’s A/E-key M.2 HDMI capture card for that socket, recording an HD HDMI source at 30 fps with its audio, which is often all a kiosk, lecture or monitoring recorder needs.

The HDMI input accepts 1920 x 1080 at 60/50 fps and captures at 30/25 fps, with 1080p at 30, 25 and 24 fps, 1080i, 720p and computer timings down to 576i. Capture formats are 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 and NV12. Audio comes from HDMI embedded audio, plus an analogue L/R input through a wafer connector, at 16-bit, 32 to 48 kHz.

The card is M.2 Type A/E on a PCIe x1 link, with cropping and scaling, auto signal detection, a deinterlace engine and multiple instances, and several cards can run in one host. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK for DirectShow and V4L2 applications. The SC540N1 M2 HDMI (B/M) fits a B/M-key socket instead, and the SC550N1 M2 HDMI (A/E) captures at the full 1080p60 on an A/E socket.

Yuan lists Windows, Linux 2.6.14 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit, and Linux ARM on NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. We supply it tested in the host computer it goes into, with drivers installed and capture checked on the inputs you plan to use. The SC540N1 M2 HDMI (A/E) suits compact recording, kiosk and lecture capture systems where 30 fps HD is enough.
