In a production or AV chain, a capture PC has to take the SDI feed without breaking the path to the next monitor or recorder. The SC550N1-L SDI is Yuan’s single-channel PCIe SDI frame grabber with a 3G-SDI input and a loop-through output, so the signal carries on while the PC records or streams it.
The card has one SDI input and one SDI loop-through output. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Frames reach the host as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, which lets display, analysis and encoding software pick the colour format that suits it. Built-in cropping and scaling, a deinterlace engine and auto signal detection take routine work off the host. Audio is one stereo embedded input at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz, taken from the SDI stream.
It is a PCIe x1 Gen1 card, with no on-board encoder. Yuan supplies Windows and Linux SDKs, and as a DirectShow and V4L2 device it works with vMix, OBS and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams and Webex. The SC550N2-L SDI doubles the channels with two loop-through outputs, and the SC550N1-L AIO pairs SDI with a DVI-I connector.
Operating system support covers Windows 7 to Windows 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 109.22 x 68.9 mm, with two BNC connectors on the bracket for input and loop-through. It has 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog, and Yuan lists multi-device support.
