Yuan SC550N1 MC SDI Mini PCIe SDI Frame Grabber with 1080p60 Input

When a small computer captures an SDI camera, the same feed often still has to reach a monitor or a recorder. The SC550N1 MC SDI is Yuan’s Mini PCIe SDI frame grabber with a 3G-SDI input and a loop-through output, so the card captures the signal and passes it on down the chain.

The card has one SDI input and one SDI loop-through output. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Frames reach the host as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, which lets display, analysis and encoding software pick the colour format that suits it. Built-in cropping and scaling, a deinterlace engine and auto signal detection take routine work off the host. Audio comes from the SDI embedded stream, with a pair of analogue audio connections through an on-board wafer, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.

It is a full-size Mini PCIe (Minicard) card on a PCIe x1 link, with no on-board encoder. Yuan supplies Windows and Linux SDKs, and as a DirectShow and V4L2 device it works with vMix, OBS and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams and Webex. The SC5A0N1 MC SDI adds H.26X hardware encoding on the same size of card, and the SC550N1 MC AIO pairs SDI with an HDMI input.

Operating system support covers Windows 7 to Windows 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 30 x 50.95 mm and connects its SDI signals through cables to BNC connectors. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support.
