A small embedded recorder on an SDI line has to compress the feed and still pass it to the next monitor. The SC5A0N1 MC SDI is Yuan’s Mini PCIe SDI video capture card with a built-in H.26X hardware encoder and a loop-through output, so the card records while the signal carries on.
The card has one SDI input and one SDI loop-through output. Sources arrive at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps and the card delivers 1920 x 1080p at 30/25 fps to the host. Colour formats cover 4:4:4 RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 YUY2 and 4:2:0 YV12 and NV12 at 8 bits, giving software a choice between full colour detail and lighter frames. The card also crops, scales and deinterlaces on board and detects the incoming signal automatically. It covers 3G-SDI, HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats. Audio is SDI embedded, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.
It is a full-size Mini PCIe (Minicard) card on a PCIe x1 link, with H.26X hardware encoding on board. Windows and Linux SDKs cover custom applications, and DirectShow and V4L2 support lets vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software open it directly. The SC550N1 MC SDI captures at the full 1080p60 rate without an encoder, and the SC5A0N1 M2 SDI is the M.2 version.
Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 30 x 50.95 mm and connects its SDI signals through cables to BNC connectors. Yuan lists multi-device and multi-instance support.
