M.2SC550N4 M2 HDMI Overview
Multi-source recording in a small enclosure, whether four cameras or a mix of cameras and computers, runs out of expansion slots quickly. The SC550N4 M2 HDMI is Yuan’s 4-channel M.2 HDMI capture card, taking four HDMI inputs through a single 22 x 80 mm card in an M.2 socket.
Four HDMI inputs run as independent capture channels. Digital video is captured at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, while 1920 x 1200 signals at 60/50 fps are taken in and captured at 30/25 fps, with PC modes down to 640 x 480 and more through the SDK. Capture and preview formats are RGB24 and RGB32 at 4:4:4, YUY2 at 4:2:2 and YV12 or NV12 at 4:2:0, all 8-bit, so host software receives frames in the layout it already expects. Cropping, scaling, deinterlacing and automatic signal detection run on the card rather than in host code. Each channel carries HDMI embedded audio, sampled as 16-bit stereo at 32 to 48 kHz.
The card fits an M.2 Type B/M socket at 2280 length and uses a PCIe x2 link rather than the x1 of the 2-channel card, with no on-board encoder. For software, Yuan provides Windows and Linux SDKs and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Skype, Teams and Webex among compatible applications through DirectShow and V4L2. The SC550N2 M2 HDMI is the 2-channel version, and the SC550N4 HDMI puts four HDMI channels on a full height PCIe x4 card.
Yuan lists support for Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux kernel 2.6.14 or later in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The card measures 22 x 80 mm and connects its HDMI inputs through flat cables. Multi-device and multi-instance support are listed where a host takes more than one card.
