A large SDI production or a monitoring system with many cameras needs every feed captured together, often in a PC with few free slots. The SC550N8 SDI is Yuan’s 8-channel PCIe SDI video capture card, taking eight 3G-SDI feeds through one full height card.
Eight SDI inputs run as independent capture channels. It accepts 3G-SDI at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, HD-SDI at 1080p 30/25/24 fps, 1080i 60/50 fps and 720p 60/50 fps, and SD-SDI at 480i and 576i. Colour formats cover 4:4:4 RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 YUY2 and 4:2:0 YV12 and NV12 at 8 bits, giving software a choice between full colour detail and lighter frames. The card also crops, scales and deinterlaces on board and detects the incoming signal automatically. Audio is eight stereo embedded inputs at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz, taken from the SDI streams.
It is a PCIe x4 Gen2 card, with no on-board encoder, so each channel reaches the host for software to handle. Windows and Linux SDKs cover custom applications, and DirectShow and V4L2 support lets vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and similar software open it directly. The SC550N4 SDI is the 4-channel card for smaller rigs, and the SC550N8 HDMI is the 8-channel HDMI version.
Supported systems are Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The board measures 132 x 100 mm and Yuan specifies a full height bracket, with eight SDI connectors. It has 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog, and Yuan lists multi-device support.
