Yuan SC550N8 HDMI PCIe HDMI Capture Card with 8 x HDMI Inputs at 1080p60

Capturing eight HDMI sources, whether cameras around a venue or computer outputs in a control room, would normally take several cards and slots. The SC550N8 HDMI is Yuan’s 8-channel PCIe HDMI capture card, bringing all eight into one full height card.

Eight HDMI inputs run as independent capture channels. Digital video is captured at up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps, while 1920 x 1200 signals at 60/50 fps are taken in and captured at 30/25 fps, with PC modes down to 640 x 480 and more through the SDK. Frames reach the host as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, which lets display, analysis and encoding software pick the colour format that suits it. Built-in cropping and scaling, a deinterlace engine and auto signal detection take routine work off the host. Audio is eight stereo embedded inputs at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz, one per channel.

It is a PCIe x4 Gen2 card, with no on-board encoder, so frames reach the host for software to process. Yuan supplies Windows and Linux SDKs, and as a DirectShow and V4L2 device it works with vMix, OBS and conferencing tools such as Zoom, Teams and Webex. The SC550N4 HDMI is the 4-channel card for smaller rigs, and the SC550N8 SDI is the 8-channel SDI version.

Operating system support covers Windows 7 to Windows 10, Linux from kernel 2.6.14 in 32-bit and 64-bit form, Linux on ARM and the NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. The board measures 132 x 100 mm and Yuan specifies a full height bracket, carrying all eight HDMI connectors. It has 16 GPIO lines and a watchdog, and Yuan lists multi-device support.
