When a capture card sits between a source and its monitor, the operator still needs to see the picture. That is common when recording the screen of a computer, a test system or older medical or industrial equipment. The SC5A0N1-L HDV is Yuan’s single-channel PCIe DVI video capture card for that job, with DVI-I, YPbPr, S-Video and composite inputs and matching loop-through outputs.
Digital and component sources run up to 1920 x 1080p at 60/50 fps in and 30/25 fps captured, with 1080i, 720p and common computer modes from 640 x 480 to 1280 x 1024 listed for DVI. Composite and S-Video cover 720 x 576i50 and 720 x 480i60. Frames come out as 8-bit RGB24, RGB32, YUY2, YV12 or NV12, from full 4:4:4 colour down to 4:2:0 for lighter encoding and streaming loads. Stereo embedded audio is captured at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.
The card uses a PCIe x1 Gen1 slot and supports multiple instances and multiple cards per host, with cropping and scaling, automatic signal detection and deinterlacing on board. Yuan also lists 16 GPIO and a watchdog. Development runs on Yuan’s Windows and Linux SDK, while DirectShow and V4L2 support lets off-the-shelf software including vMix, OBS, Teams and GoToMeeting use it as a video source. The SC5C0N1-L HDV keeps loop-through and moves to 1080p60 capture, and the SC5A0N2 HDV offers two DVI channels without loop-through.
On the operating system side Yuan supports Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, 32-bit and 64-bit Linux from kernel 2.6.14, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX modules. So the same card can sit in a Windows review station or a Linux or Jetson-based recorder. The board measures 135.01 x 68.95 mm.
