PCI ExpressSC720N4 HDMI2.0 Overview
Streaming and recording systems that combine several computers, cameras and presentation sources need each HDMI feed captured at full quality from one host. The SC720N4 HDMI2.0 is Yuan’s four-channel PCIe HDMI frame grabber for HDMI 2.0 sources, taking four 4K60 sources, or one 8K60 source, through a single PCIe x8 slot.
Each HDMI 2.0 input captures up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 or 50 fps, and also takes 2560 x 1440 at 144 fps and 1920 x 1080 at up to 240 fps, down to SD formats. Single, dual and quad-link modes are supported, with quad-link giving 8K60 capture. Colour formats cover 4:4:4 8-bit RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 8-bit YUY2, 4:2:0 8-bit YV12 and NV12, and 4:2:0 10-bit P010. Four stereo embedded audio channels at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz are captured with the video.
The card uses a PCIe x8 Gen2 interface. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and a deinterlace engine, and multi-instance and multi-device support lets software open several streams or cards at once. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and Cisco Webex among compatible applications, along with DirectShow and V4L2 software. The SC720N4 12G-SDI is the four-channel 12G-SDI version, and the SC710N2-L HDMI2.0 takes two HDMI 2.0 inputs on a low profile board.
Operating system support covers Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The full height board measures 130.49 x 101.01 mm and suits standard desktop and rack-mount hosts with a free x8 slot.
