Multi-camera production and recording systems built around SDI need every feed captured at full resolution without filling the host with cards. The SC720N4 12G-SDI is Yuan’s four-channel PCIe SDI video capture card with 12G-SDI inputs, bringing four 4K60 sources, or one 8K60 source, into a PC through a single PCIe x8 slot.
Each 12G-SDI input captures up to 4096 x 2160 or 3840 x 2160 at 60 or 50 fps. 6G-SDI sources run at 4K up to 30 fps, 3G-SDI at 1920 x 1080 at 60 fps, and HD-SDI and SD-SDI formats down to 720 x 576i are accepted too. Single, dual and quad-link modes are supported, with quad-link giving 8K60 capture. Colour formats cover 4:4:4 8-bit RGB24 and RGB32, 4:2:2 8-bit YUY2, 4:2:0 8-bit YV12 and NV12, and 4:2:0 10-bit P010. The card captures video, audio and VANC data, with four stereo embedded audio channels at 16-bit and 32 to 48 kHz.
The card uses a PCIe x8 Gen2 interface. On-board processing covers cropping and scaling, auto signal detection and a deinterlace engine, and multi-instance and multi-device support lets software open several streams or cards at once. Yuan provides a Windows and Linux SDK and lists vMix, OBS, Zoom, Teams and Cisco Webex among compatible applications, along with DirectShow and V4L2 software. The SC720N4 HDMI2.0 is the four-channel HDMI 2.0 version, and the SC710N2 12G-SDI takes two 12G-SDI inputs.
Operating system support covers Windows 7, 8, 8.1 and 10, Linux 4.8 or higher in 32-bit and 64-bit builds, Linux on ARM, and NVIDIA Jetson TX2, Nano, AGX Xavier and Xavier NX. The full height board measures 140.97 x 101.01 mm, which suits standard desktop and rack-mount hosts with a free x8 slot.
