SDVoE to 12G-SDI V2 Overview
In pro AV and live production work, 12G-SDI monitors, routers and recorders often sit a long way from the source. The SDVoE to 12G-SDI V2 is Yuan’s 12G-SDI SDVoE receiver for the far end of that run: it takes an SDVoE stream from a 10G Ethernet network and converts it back to one 12G-SDI output. Yuan describes SDVoE as lossless and zero-latency, which typically suits live sources where any delay would be noticed.
The SDVoE input is a single port that works over RJ45 copper or SFP+ fibre, and the transfer mode is selectable, so the same unit can sit on either kind of cable. Video leaves on one 12G-SDI output and follows the format of the incoming stream, so resolution and frame rate are set by the transmitter. Analogue L/R audio travels in both directions through a stereo phone jack, and IR and RS232 pass over the same link for controlling the source or display.
A separate RJ45 port handles control. One USB port extends USB HID devices such as a keyboard and mouse by default, with USB 2.0 available as an option. Power comes from PoE (PD) on the 10G or 1G RJ45 port or from a 7.5 to 15 V DC input, and the electronics sit in a rugged case. At the source end, the 12G-SDI to SDVoE V2 is the matching V2 transmitter with the same copper or fibre choice. Where the cable type is already fixed, the SDVoE to 12G-SDI-F and SDVoE to 12G-SDI-C are fibre-only and copper-only versions without PoE.
