MIC-712P-ON Overview
Counting and simple detection jobs often run well on a smaller Jetson module, but still need power at every camera. The Advantech MIC-712P-ON handles both: an NVIDIA Jetson Orin Nano with six Gigabit PoE ports at a 150 W total power budget and individual port control, in a fanless embedded computer of 160 x 160 x 70 mm. It is part of the MIC-712 series, pairing the PoE ports with the Orin Nano for multi-camera sites and mobile equipment.
The MIC-712P-ON takes the Orin Nano 8GB, with a six-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU, a 1024-core NVIDIA Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores and 8 GB of LPDDR5, or the 4GB module with a 512-core GPU, 16 Tensor Cores and 4 GB. Super mode on JetPack 6.2 raises the rating to up to 67 TOPS. The MIC-712P-ON3A1 (8GB) and MIC-712P-ON2A1 (4GB) both ship with JetPack 6.2 pre-installed on a 128 GB NVMe SSD. Advantech lists this model as preliminary, so details may still change.
Alongside the PoE ports are two further Gigabit Ethernet ports for the site network, four USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports, an HDMI output at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz and micro USB ports for the debug console and OTG. Inside, an M.2 2230 E key socket takes Wi-Fi, an M.2 3052 B key socket takes an optional 5G module with a nano SIM slot or an optional eSIM, and the M.2 2280 socket on PCIe x4 holds the NVMe SSD, with a micro SD slot. A TPM 2.0 is optional, and out-of-band management is integrated within the system.
Power is 19 to 36 V DC, with an optional 230 W 24 V adapter. The MIC-712P-ON runs from -25 °C to 70 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow. Mounting brackets come in the box, and the system carries CE, FCC, UKCA, CB, UL, BSMI and CCC certifications. For heavier models, the MIC-712P-OX moves to the Orin NX at up to 157 TOPS, and the MIC-712-ON is the slimmer version without PoE.
