MIC-713 Description
A vision system on a production line rarely stops at the camera. It has to read a part-present sensor, fire a reject gate or a stack light and report results to the controller, and each extra box for that I/O adds wiring and another thing to fail. The Advantech MIC-713 series is a family of industrial embedded computers that keeps the inference and the machine signals in one compact fanless unit, built around NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX and Orin Nano modules.
Every MIC-713 model shares the same I/O. Four optically isolated digital inputs and four isolated outputs sit on terminal blocks, and a nine-pin CAN FD port has a switchable 120 ohm termination for the end of a bus. Two Gigabit Ethernet ports, with PoE available by request, six USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports (two front, four rear) and an HDMI 2.0 output at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz cover cameras, displays and the plant network. Two RS-232/422/485 ports are optional on-board headers. Expansion is a mini PCIe socket for Wi-Fi, an M.2 3052 B key socket with two nano SIM slots for 5G, a MIPI connector for an optional GMSL capture card and an M.2 2280 NVMe socket on PCIe Gen 4 x1.
The series has two models. The MIC-713-OX takes the Orin NX 8GB or 16GB, with six or eight Arm Cortex-A78AE cores and a 1024-core Ampere GPU, rated at up to 157 TOPS in Super mode on JetPack 6.2, for multi-camera inspection and robotics. The MIC-713-ON takes the Orin Nano 4GB or 8GB at up to 67 TOPS, which typically suits counting, presence checks and single-camera detection at a lower module cost.
Both MIC-713 models run on 9 to 36 V DC, operate from -10 °C to 60 °C with 0.7 m/s airflow (to 50 °C in MAXN_SUPER mode) and are rated for 3 Grms random vibration and 10 G shock. They measure 194.8 x 174.3 x 65.85 mm, come with mounting brackets and take an optional DIN rail kit for cabinet installs. Advantech supports Allxon remote monitoring and OTA deployment, with an optional Allxon out-of-band module, and the series carries CE, FCC, UKCA, CB, UL, BSMI and CCC certifications. Typical uses are machine vision cells, AMR and robot controllers, packaging lines and remote monitoring stations.
