Antaira LMX-0802 8-Port Fast Ethernet Managed Industrial Ethernet Switches with 2x 100FX SC Multi-mode Fibre and Extended Temperature Options

Fibre plant on an established site was often laid years before the switches that use it, so the connector type and fibre mode are already fixed. A switch that matches what is in the ground saves re-terminating cores or patching through adaptors. The Antaira LMX-0802 series covers that with eight builds: two 100Base-FX fibre ports in multi-mode or single-mode, with SC or ST connectors, plus six managed Fast Ethernet copper ports.

Every model shares the same design. Six 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports and two fixed-optic 100Base-FX ports switch store-and-forward on a 1.6 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC table and a 4 Mbit buffer. The Layer 2+ firmware covers private, port, MAC and protocol VLANs, QoS, IGMP snooping, LACP, LLDP, RMON, DDMI and Modbus TCP, with static routes and NAT, and security through 802.1X, RADIUS, TACACS+, ACLs and ARP inspection. ITU-T G.8032 ERPS recovers a fibre ring in under 50 ms. Power comes in at 12 to 48 V DC on a terminal block, a power lost warning drives a 24 V DC relay contact, and the switch draws 15 W.

The SC builds are the LMX-0802-M and LMX-0802-M-T in multi-mode, and the LMX-0802-S3 and LMX-0802-S3-T in single-mode. The ST builds are the LMX-0802-ST-M and LMX-0802-ST-M-T in multi-mode, and the LMX-0802-ST-S3 and LMX-0802-ST-S3-T in single-mode. Models ending in -T are rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated outstations and roadside cabinets; the others are rated -10 °C to 65 °C. Multi-mode suits links across a site, and single-mode suits longer runs between sites.

Antaira names power and utility, water and wastewater, oil, gas and mining, factory automation, ITS and security surveillance within transportation as typical applications for the LMX-0802 series, with high EFT and ESD protection and reverse polarity protection built in. Each case is tested for shock to IEC 60068-2-27, vibration to IEC 60068-2-6 and free fall to IEC 60068-2-32, with storage from -40 °C to 85 °C and 5% to 95% non-condensing humidity. Each switch is managed through the web console, Telnet or CLI, with USB configuration backup and restore and automatic e-mail warnings. The series is UL 61010-1 certified, carries FCC and CE marks, sits in an IP30 metal DIN rail case and comes with Antaira’s 5-year warranty, and we can pre-configure ring settings and VLANs before it ships.
