Outdoor cabinets in power and utility, water treatment and ITS networks see cold nights and hot afternoons, and they often mix older 10/100 field devices with newer gigabit kit. The LMX-1202M-SFP-T is the extended temperature build of the Antaira LMX-1202M-SFP series: a 12-port managed industrial Ethernet switch rated -40 °C to 75 °C, with fibre slots for the run back to the network core.
Eight 10/100TX RJ45 ports suit PLCs, meters and other Fast Ethernet devices, and two 10/100/1000T RJ45 ports handle gigabit links to switches or servers. Two dual-rate SFP slots accept 100 Mbps or 1 Gbps transceivers, so the fibre type and reach follow the module chosen. Switching is Layer 2 managed and store-and-forward on a 9.6 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC table. ITU-T G.8032 ERPS restores a broken ring in under 50 ms, with STP, RSTP and MSTP for other layouts, plus VLAN, QoS, IGMP v1/v2/v3 and port mirroring.
Power arrives on a 12 to 48 V DC input and the LMX-1202M-SFP-T draws 15 W, with overload current and reverse polarity protection built in. A relay output rated 24 V DC, 1 A and e-mail alerts flag exceptions to a PLC or alarm panel, and RMON helps track traffic over time. Modbus TCP lets SCADA software read switch status directly, while 802.1X, SNMP v1/v2c/v3, HTTPS and SSH/SSL secure access. The LMX-1202M-SFP-T operates from -40 °C to 75 °C, stores from -40 °C to 85 °C and handles 5 to 95% non-condensing humidity, so it suits unheated enclosures without a cabinet heater. It sits in an IP30 metal housing for DIN rail or wall mounting, and Antaira lists IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration. Approvals include CE, FCC, RoHS, UL 61010-1, UL Class 1 Division 2 and NEMA TS2, backed by Antaira’s 5-year warranty. The LMX-1202M-SFP is the same switch rated -10 °C to 70 °C, and the LMX-1204G-SFP-T swaps in eight gigabit RJ45 ports and four SFP slots.
