Antaira LNX-0802C-SFP 8-Port Gigabit Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switches with 2x Combo SFP and Extended Temperature Options

Choosing between a copper and a fibre uplink is easier when the switch does not force the decision. The Antaira LNX-0802C-SFP series leaves it open: industrial unmanaged Ethernet switches with six Fast Ethernet ports for devices and two gigabit combo ports for uplinks, so the same unit works whether the next cabinet is a patch lead away or a fibre run across the site. There is no management interface and nothing to configure, so the switch forwards traffic as soon as power is applied, and the uplink medium can change later without changing the switch.

Every LNX-0802C-SFP shares the same design. The six 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports support auto negotiation and auto MDI/MDI-X. The two gigabit combo ports are each usable as RJ45 or SFP, as a 10/100/1000Base-T copper port or a 100/1000 SFP slot. Switching is unmanaged and store-and-forward on a 5.2 Gbps fabric with an 8K MAC table, 9.6 KB jumbo frames and IEEE 802.3x flow control. Power arrives on 12 to 48 V DC redundant inputs with a 12 W draw, Antaira builds in high EFT and ESD protection against unregulated voltage, and a relay output rated 24 V DC, 1 A signals a power failure.

Two builds separate the series by temperature. The LNX-0802C-SFP is the standard model, rated -10 °C to 70 °C for heated or indoor cabinets. The LNX-0802C-SFP-T is the extended temperature model, rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated and outdoor enclosures. Both have the same ports and approvals. For two more Fast Ethernet ports in the same style, the LNX-1002C-SFP series keeps the two combo ports and adds capacity.

Both LNX-0802C-SFP models come in an IP30 metal case with DIN-rail and wall mounting hardware included, and follow IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration testing. Antaira lists UL Class 1, Division 2 and UL 61010-1 certification, with FCC and CE marks and RoHS compliance, and covers the series with its 5-year warranty. The LNX-0802C-SFP series is a good fit for harsh industrial applications where Fast Ethernet devices need flexible gigabit uplinks. In practice, the combo ports let a project start with copper uplinks and move to fibre when a cabinet is relocated or a run grows longer, using the same switch.
