Cabinets exposed to moisture, dust or corrosive gases can corrode a circuit board long before its electronics wear out. The LNX-800A-T-CC answers that with conformal coating: a specialty film that follows the contours of the circuit boards, which Antaira says meets or exceeds the standards for protection against gases, dust and water. Underneath, it is an eight-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged DIN rail switch rated -40 °C to 75 °C.
Eight 10/100Base-TX RJ45 ports auto-negotiate speed and duplex and support auto MDI/MDI-X. Store-and-forward switching runs on a non-blocking fabric with a 448 Kbit memory buffer, a 2K MAC address table and IEEE 802.3x flow control. With no management interface, the switch forwards traffic as soon as it is powered, so there is no configuration to back up or restore.
Redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs connect through a removable 6-contact terminal block, with reverse polarity protection and a resettable overload fuse, and the switch draws 5 W. Ports are protected against surges to 2,000 V DC and ESD to 6,000 V DC, and one relay output alerts maintainers when a power failure or port break occurs.
The IP30 metal case mounts on a DIN rail or a wall and is rated to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration. Antaira lists the LNX-800A-T-CC as UL Class 1 Division 2 and UL 61010-1 certified, with FCC, CE and RoHS, and backs it with its 5-year warranty. Without the coating, the LNX-800A-T in the LNX-800A series offers the same extended range and adds a 24 V AC input option, while the LNX-C500-T-CC is a coated five-port alternative for smaller cabinets.
