Antaira LNX-C500-CC 5-Port Compact Fast Ethernet Unmanaged Industrial Ethernet Switches with Extended Temperature Options

In water treatment, mining and process plant, the air itself is often what shortens a switch’s life: humidity, chemical vapours and fine dust settle on circuit boards and start corrosion. The Antaira LNX-C500-CC series tackles that at board level. These are small 5-port Fast Ethernet unmanaged industrial Ethernet switches with conformal coating, a specialty film that follows the contours of the printed circuit board to protect it from adverse conditions.

Antaira says its conformal coating process meets or exceeds the standards for protection against gases, dust and water. Under the coating, every LNX-C500-CC shares the same design: five 10/100BaseTx RJ45 ports with auto MDI/MDI-X, store-and-forward switching, an 8K MAC address table, a 448 Kbit packet buffer and IEEE 802.3x flow control. Redundant 12 to 48 V DC inputs connect through a removable 4-contact terminal block, each switch draws 1.2 W, and reverse polarity, overload, surge (2,000 V DC) and ESD (6,000 V DC) protection are built in. The coating does not change how the switch behaves on the network: there is no management interface and nothing to configure, so a coated unit drops in wherever an uncoated one would, and a spare from stores can be fitted by any site technician without a laptop.

The series has two temperature grades. The LNX-C500-CC is the coated standard build, rated -10 °C to 70 °C for indoor plant rooms and process halls. The LNX-C500-T-CC is the coated extended temperature build, rated -40 °C to 75 °C for unheated outdoor cabinets. Where coating is not needed, the LNX-C500 series offers the same switch uncoated, and the LNX-800A-T-CC is a coated eight-port alternative.

Both models use an IP30 metal case for a DIN rail, with wall mounting as an option, rated to IEC 60068-2-27 shock and IEC 60068-2-6 vibration. Antaira lists FCC, CE, RoHS and UL 61010-1 certification and NEMA TS2 compliance, and covers the LNX-C500-CC series with its 5-year warranty. Antaira names power and utility, water and wastewater treatment, oil, gas and mining, process control automation, security access control and intelligent transportation systems as applications, which makes these coated industrial Ethernet switches a sensible default wherever corrosive air meets a small panel.
