Arestech MEVA-2012E Intel Celeron J1900 Quad Core Compact Machine Vision PC with Dual PCIe Slots

A vision station often needs one specific card, a frame grabber, a motion controller or an isolated I/O board, and little processing power beyond it. The Arestech MEVA-2012E is the PCIe model in the MEVA-2010 series, a compact machine vision PC that pairs the Celeron J1900 with two PCIe slots, six COM ports and two GbE ports.

Compute comes from the Intel Celeron J1900 at up to 2.42 GHz, with integrated Intel HD Graphics and a single DDR3L 1066/1333 SO-DIMM socket for up to 8 GB. On the MEVA-2012E that is suited to camera triggering, barcode and presence checks, HMI duty and serial machine control rather than heavy image processing. A DVI-I port at up to 1920 x 1200, with a DVI-to-VGA adapter in the box, and a DisplayPort output at up to 2560 x 1600 drive two screens.

The MEVA-2012E carries two PCIe x4 slots, each wired as a single lane, in a side expansion module that widens the enclosure to 127 x 168 x 216 mm and 2.85 kg. Two Intel i210-AT GbE ports with Wake-on-LAN and PXE, six RS-232/422/485 DB9 ports with auto flow control, 4x isolated DI and 4x isolated DO, one USB 3.0 and four USB 2.0 ports handle cameras, controllers and peripherals. Storage pairs one removable and one internal 2.5″ SATA bay with a CFast socket and an mSATA socket, and two full-size mini-PCIe sockets with two SIM holders take Wi-Fi or LTE modules.

Power enters through a 3-pin terminal block at 9 to 48 V DC, with ignition sensing, a PC/car mode switch, remote power on/off and protection against over-voltage up to 52 V, reverse voltage and over-current. Arestech rates the MEVA-2012E for fanless operation from -40 °C to 70 °C, vibration is rated at 5 Grms and shock at 50 G, and the compact machine vision PC mounts on a wall or stand. For legacy PCI cards, the MEVA-2012P uses the same enclosure, and the MEVA-2010 drops the slots for a slimmer box.
