Arestech SB-5516 Intel Core Ultra 200S Fanless Embedded PCs with Intel NPU and Optional Isolated DIO

Inspection and motion-control cells are moving AI inference out of the server room and onto the machine, and that puts a current desktop-socket processor in a cabinet where a fan would soon clog. The Arestech SB-5516 series answers that with fanless embedded PCs for 35 W Intel Core Ultra 200S processors, each with an integrated NPU, aimed at edge AI, machine vision, defect detection in manufacturing, AGV and AMR motion control and real-time data analytics.

Both models share an LGA1851 socket on the Intel H810 chipset, with Arestech listing the Core Ultra 9 285T, Ultra 7 265T and Ultra 5 245T. The NPU can take on inference while the CPU cores run control and logging, and dual-channel DDR5 at 5600 or 6400 MHz reaches 128 GB across two SO-DIMM sockets. HDMI 2.1 up to 7680 x 4320 and DisplayPort up to 4096 x 2160 drive two displays, and two GbE ports, four USB 3.2 ports, one RS-232 and one RS-232/422/485 port and a four-in, four-out GPIO header cover standard I/O. Storage is an M.2 2280 M-Key slot with PCIe Gen4 x4 plus two removable 2.5″ SATA SSD trays, an M.2 E-Key slot takes optional Wi-Fi, and a flexible I/O window leaves room for added interfaces.

The two models differ only in digital I/O. The SB-5516-1A1 is the standard build for vision and analytics cells that talk to the machine over Ethernet or serial. The SB-5516-1A2 adds 16 isolated digital inputs and 16 isolated outputs on a dedicated connector, so the embedded PC can read sensors and drive rejects or interlocks without a separate remote I/O module. Both use the same enclosure, wiring and power input, so a project can move between them without redrawing the cabinet.

Power is 19 to 24 V DC on a two-pin terminal block with AT and ATX modes. The SB-5516 series runs fanless from -20 °C to 60 °C, is tested to 5 Grms vibration and 50 G shock under IEC 60068, carries CE and FCC Class A marks and wall mounts, with TPM 2.0 on the board and Windows 11 or Linux supported. That makes these fanless embedded PCs a good fit for inspection stations, robot cells and line-side analytics where NPU-assisted inference has to sit close to the cameras and sensors. We supply each one configured, with the operating system installed, and tested.
