ASRock Industrial iEP-7020E 13th Gen Intel Core Raptor Lake Extended Temperature DIN Rail Controllers

Control cabinets on a production line rarely have room for a desktop-sized PC, and the equipment inside them often has to keep running through cold starts, vibration and supply transients. The ASRock Industrial iEP-7020E series answers that with DIN Rail Controllers that clip onto the same rail as the breakers and terminals, run fanless, and bring 13th Gen Intel Core compute into the cabinet itself. Intel TCC and TSN support under Linux adds deterministic timing for motion and real-time control work.

ASRock Industrial builds every iEP-7020E model around a soldered BGA processor from the same 13th Gen Intel Core family: the i7-1365URE and i5-1345URE at 15 W, or the i7-1370PRE and i5-1350PRE at 28 W, all with Intel Iris Xe graphics driving two DP++ 1.4a outputs. Two DDR4 3200 SO-DIMM sockets take up to 64 GB with In-Band ECC. Three Intel i226-IT LAN ports with vPro, four RS-232/422/485 ports, three USB 3.2 Gen2 ports, one USB 2.0 port and a 15-pin D-sub with 4 DI/4 DO plus remote power and reset cover the usual field connections. Storage starts with an M.2 2280 Key M socket and a microSD slot, and an M.2 Key E socket takes a Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 module.

The range splits by networking and expansion. The iEP-7020E-000 is the basic model, with three LAN ports, a 2.5-inch SATA bay, a 9 to 36 V DC input and an M.2 Key B socket for a 4G LTE or 5G module. The iEP-7020E-001 adds two Intel i210-AT ports with IEEE 802.3af PoE for cameras and sensors, on a 19 to 36 V DC input in a 68 mm wide case. The iEP-7020E-002 keeps five LAN ports without PoE on 9 to 36 V DC, for controllers that sit between several machine networks.

Typical deployments include machine and line control, cabinet-mounted edge data processing and real-time gateways in utilities and process plants. The iEP-7020E series operates from -40 °C to 70 °C on the basic model and from -40 °C to 50 °C on the PoE and five-LAN models, rated with 0.5 to 0.8 m/s airflow. A Phoenix-type terminal block with OVP, UVP, OCP and 80 V surge protection, 5 Grms vibration and 100 G shock ratings, CE and FCC Class A compliance and TPM 2.0 are common to all three. Windows 10 and Ubuntu 22.04 LTS are supported, so these DIN Rail Controllers can run Windows engineering tools or a Linux real-time stack.
