Avalue EMX-EHLP Intel Elkhart Lake Celeron and Atom x6000E Thin Mini-ITX Motherboards with Dual or Quad 2.5GbE

An edge gateway or a line controller often needs more Ethernet ports than a compact board offers: one for the plant network, one for a machine or camera segment, one for a fieldbus gateway and one for remote access. The Avalue EMX-EHLP series puts up to four 2.5GbE ports on a 170 x 170 mm Thin Mini-ITX board, with Intel Elkhart Lake processors and a 12 to 24 V DC input, so a separate network switch or add-in card is often unnecessary.

Every EMX-EHLP board uses a quad-core Intel Elkhart Lake processor and takes one DDR4 3200 MHz SO-DIMM of up to 32 GB, with in-band ECC on the Atom x6000E builds. Intel UHD Graphics drives HDMI 2.0b at up to 4096 x 2160 at 60 Hz, a DP++ output and an internal dual-channel LVDS connector, with up to three independent displays. A hardware watchdog restarts the board if the application hangs, and Avalue lists Windows 10 and Linux.

The range has five builds. EMX-EHLP-J6412-A1R uses the Celeron J6412 at 10 W with four 2.5GbE ports, and EMX-EHLP-J12-A1-1R is the same processor with two 2.5GbE ports for designs that need fewer networks. EMX-EHLP-J6413-A1R uses the Celeron J6413 at 10 W with four ports. These three operate from 0 to 60 °C. EMX-EHLP-X13E-A1R uses the Atom x6413E at 9 W and EMX-EHLP-X25RE-A1R the Atom x6425RE at 12 W, both with four ports, in-band ECC and -20 to 60 °C operation for unheated cabinets.

The 2.5GbE ports use Intel I226LM controllers on RJ45. Two rear USB 3.1 Gen 2 and two USB 3.1 Gen 1 Type-A ports sit beside four USB 2.0 headers. Six COM headers, two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232, plus 16-bit DIO connect PLCs, drives, meters and relays. An M.2 B-key (2242 to 2280, or 3042/3052) takes a SATA SSD or a 4G module with its SIM slot, an M.2 E-key (2230) takes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, and two SATA ports add drives, one shared with the B-key.

Power is 12 to 24 V DC on a lockable barrel jack or a 4-pin internal connector, with AT or ATX power modes. Operating ranges are quoted with 0.5 m/s airflow, and all EMX-EHLP boards carry CE, FCC and RoHS compliance.
