Avalue EMX-MTLP Intel Meteor Lake Core Ultra 5 Thin Mini-ITX Motherboards with Dual 2.5GbE and Quad Display

Multi-screen control rooms, machine vision stations and retail video walls ask a lot of a small board: several high-resolution outputs, fast NVMe storage for images and video, and enough cores to process camera feeds while the user interface stays responsive. The Avalue EMX-MTLP series brings Intel Core Ultra 5 Meteor Lake processors to a 170 x 170 mm Thin Mini-ITX board with four independent displays, so a slim enclosure can take on work that once needed a full-size PC.

Both EMX-MTLP boards take two DDR5 5600 MHz SO-DIMMs of up to 64 GB in total. Intel Xe LPG graphics drives two HDMI 2.0 outputs at up to 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, DisplayPort 1.4a at up to 7680 x 4320 at 30 Hz, a USB-C port with DisplayPort Alt Mode, and internal eDP 1.2 and dual-channel LVDS connectors, with up to four independent displays. The processors are rated at 11 TOPS of AI performance for inference alongside the CPU. TPM 2.0 is on the board, and Avalue lists Windows 11 and Linux.

The range has two builds. EMX-MTLP-125U-A1R uses the Intel Core Ultra 5 125U with 12 cores, 14 threads and a 15 W TDP, ships with a heatsink for fanless operation and is rated from 0 to 55 °C. EMX-MTLP-125H-A1R uses the Core Ultra 5 125H with 14 cores, 18 threads and a 28 W TDP, runs with an active CPU cooler and is rated from 0 to 50 °C, for heavier vision and video workloads.

Two 2.5GbE ports run on Intel I226LM and I226V controllers. Two rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 and two USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A ports sit beside six internal USB 2.0 connections. Six COM headers, one RS-232/422/485 and five RS-232, plus 16-bit DIO connect PLCs, triggers and lighting controllers. Two M.2 M-key (2280, PCIe x4) slots take NVMe SSDs, with Intel VMD RAID 0 or 1, an M.2 B-key with a SIM slot takes a 4G or GNSS module, an M.2 E-key takes Wi-Fi, two SATA ports add drives, and a PCIe x8 slot with x4 Gen 4 signal takes a capture or I/O card.

Power is 12 to 24 V DC with AT or ATX power modes. Both EMX-MTLP builds carry CE, FCC and RoHS compliance, with operating ranges quoted with 0.5 m/s airflow. For the newer Intel Core Ultra Series 3 on the same board size, see the EMX-PTLP series.
