Axiomtek AIE100A-ONX NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX Fanless Edge AI Computers with PoE

Compact Jetson boxes often hit a limit when a site adds a second model or a higher-resolution camera. The usual answer is a larger computer, but many installations have no room for one. The Axiomtek AIE100A-ONX series keeps the small 148.6 x 129.8 x 34.6 mm housing used across Axiomtek’s compact Jetson line and fits the NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, so these rugged edge AI computers carry several times the AI throughput of an entry module in the same space.

Every AIE100A-ONX shares one carrier board and I/O set. The Orin NX module brings a 1024-core Ampere GPU with 32 Tensor Cores and 128-bit LPDDR5 memory. One GbE port comes from the module and an Intel I210-IT GbE port supplies up to 15 W of PoE for a camera. HDMI 2.0 supports 4K, alongside one USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 2.0 port. Storage is an M.2 Key M 2280 NVMe slot, which is the boot device, and a full-size PCI Express Mini Card slot with a SIM socket and two SMA connectors takes LTE or Wi-Fi. Allxon management supports remote monitoring and OTA deployment.

The two models differ in the module. The AIE100A-ONX-8GB uses the Orin NX 8GB with a 6-core Arm Cortex-A78AE CPU and is rated at 70 TOPS, a good fit for two or three models on a stream. The AIE100A-ONX-16GB moves to the 16GB module with an 8-core CPU, a larger L2 cache and 100 TOPS, for multi-stream analytics and larger models.

Both AIE100A-ONX rugged edge AI computers run fanless from -30 to 50 °C in an IP40 aluminium and steel housing, with an optional IP42 cover kit, 3 Grms vibration endurance and CE and FCC Class A marking. A 12 V DC screw-type input, Ubuntu 20.04 or later with JetPack, and wall, DIN-rail and VESA mounting kits make them practical for kerbside cabinets, vehicles and indoor sites alike. Axiomtek lists the Jetson Orin NX as available through to 2028, and because both models share the housing, I/O and mounting, a project can start on the 8GB module and move to the 16GB module later without changing cabling, brackets or the enclosure layout around the unit.
