AIE900-XNX Overview
An autonomous mobile robot carries a small sensor network on board: several cameras, often a lidar, a motor controller on CAN, and a wireless link back to the fleet manager. Each device wants a port and many want power. The AIE900-XNX is an AMR computer from Axiomtek that Axiomtek designed for 5G and AMR applications, with four PoE ports and two COM/CAN ports on one fanless unit.
The NVIDIA Jetson Xavier NX pairs a 6-core NVIDIA Carmel Arm CPU with a 384-core Volta GPU and 48 Tensor Cores, rated at 21 TOPS, with 128-bit LPDDR4x memory and 16GB of eMMC. That suits obstacle detection, people detection and localisation pipelines, and the AMR computer runs Ubuntu 18.04 or later with NVIDIA JetPack.
Four Intel I210-IT GbE ports supply PoE at up to 30 W each for cameras or lidar, and a fifth GbE port from the module connects the network. Two DB9 ports switch between RS-232/422/485 and CAN by jumper, an 8-channel DI/DO handles bumpers and indicators, and a lockable HDMI 2.0 output, two USB 3.2 Gen 2 ports and five SMA antenna openings complete the panel. The AIE900-XNX adds an M.2 NVMe SSD and microSD, an M.2 Key B slot for 5G with a SIM, a Mini Card slot, and a MIPI CSI-2 connector with optional FPD-Link III camera inputs.
Power is 9 to 36 V DC with ignition power control. Axiomtek’s specification table rates the AIE900-XNX at -30 to 60 °C, while its feature list quotes -30 to 50 °C, so the lower figure is the safer planning limit. It is tested to IEC 60068 shock and vibration, weighs 2.5 kg and carries CE, FCC Class A and UKCA marking. For more compute, the AIE900A-AO-2L8P moves to Jetson AGX Orin.
