Axiomtek AX92325-4PoE 4 Port Gigabit Power Over Ethernet PCIe Card with M12 Connectors

The AX92325-4PoE is the four-port PoE build in the Axiomtek AX92325 series, a PoE frame grabber card with four Gigabit M12 X-coded ports, IEEE 802.3at PoE at up to 30 W per port and up to 120 W in total. It suits multi-camera vision and surveillance systems on moving equipment.

  • Four M12 PoE Ports: Four Gigabit ports on M12 X-coded connectors carry power and data to cameras over locking cables.
  • IEEE 802.3at PoE: Each port delivers up to 30 W at 54 V DC, so cameras need no separate power supply.
  • Up to 120 W PoE: The 6-pin ATX connector lifts total PoE output to 120 W, against 60 W on Molex and 20 W on slot power.
  • Controller Per Port: Four Intel i210-AT controllers with 9.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588 give each camera its own link.
  • Patented Slot Design: The M12 connector layout avoids taking up the space of other slots in the host system.

AX92325-4PoE Overview

Four cameras on a vehicle or a vibrating production line need power, data and connectors that will not work loose. The AX92325-4PoE is the four-port PoE build in the Axiomtek AX92325 series, a 1GigE PoE card with M12 X-coded connectors designed for machine vision and surveillance systems. We fit it to the industrial PCs and embedded systems we build and specify it for customer designs.

The card carries four independent Gigabit PoE ports on M12 X-coded connectors, each with its own Intel i210-AT controller at 10/100/1000 Mbps. The controllers support 9.5KB jumbo frames and IEEE 1588. Axiomtek’s patented connector design stops the four M12 connectors from taking up the space of other slots, and the host interface is PCI Express x4.

Each port is IEEE 802.3at compliant, delivering up to 30 W at 54 V DC. Total PoE output is 20 W from the PCIe slot, 60 W with the 4-pin Molex connector or 120 W with the 6-pin ATX power connector, so four full-power cameras need the ATX input. PoE power management software and smart on/off per LAN port allow remote camera restarts. The AX92325-2PoE is the two-port build, and the AX92320-4GbE offers four PoE ports on RJ45. Our guide to industrial Power over Ethernet covers the standards.

The ATX connector takes 12 V DC or 24 V DC, drawing 12 A at 12 V or 6 A at 24 V, and the PoE output has overload protection. The card operates from 0 to +60 °C with air flow and stores from -20 to +80 °C. It measures 168 x 111 mm and supports Windows 7 and 10 (32/64-bit).

Official Axiomtek UK Distributor

Things Embedded is an official Axiomtek UK distributor, supplying the AX92325-4PoE for UK machine vision and transport programmes. Within the Axiomtek range the AX92320-4GbE gives the same four-port PoE rating on RJ45, and the AX92324-PoE moves to two 10GbE PoE ports for higher-resolution cameras.

With four powered M12 ports the AX92325-4PoE sits among our GigE Vision frame grabbers, our PCIe frame grabbers and our add-in cards. Where four PoE cameras need locking connections and up to 120 W in total, this is the card to specify.
