DFI ADN171-CB-N97 Intel N97 Mini-ITX Embedded Motherboard with Dual 2.5GbE and Triple Display

A control-room wall, a menu board or a line-side HMI often needs three screens from one small computer, and a Mini-ITX board that does it from the rear panel keeps the cabling simple. The ADN171-CB-N97 is that build in the DFI ADN171 range: an embedded motherboard with two DisplayPort outputs and a USB-C port carrying DisplayPort Alt Mode.

The Intel Processor N97 runs four Alder Lake-N cores at up to 3.6 GHz in a 12 W TDP, and Intel UHD Graphics decode HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware so video content does not load the cores. Memory is one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM of up to 32 GB, the most in the series alongside the Atom x7213E. For a lower heat budget, the ADN171-CB-N200 gives four cores at 6 W; for more compute, the ADN171-CB-i3-N305 has eight cores at 15 W but tops out at 16 GB.

Both DisplayPort outputs support 3840 x 2160 at 60 Hz, and the USB-C output 3840 x 2160 at 24 Hz with 15 W power delivery. Three USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports and four USB 2.0 headers handle touch controllers and peripherals, while two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports, six COM ports and an 8-bit DIO link the board to the rest of the system. The M.2 B-key with Nano SIM, M.2 E-key, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 slot at x2 Gen3 take storage, wireless and expansion cards.

The ADN171-CB-N97 draws 12 V DC through a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and operates from -5 to 65 °C on its passive heatsink, which suits indoor enclosures and cabinets. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux.
