DFI ADN171 Intel N100, N97 and Core i3-N305 Mini-ITX Motherboards with Dual 2.5GbE and 12 V DC Input

Many industrial designs still come down to a standard Mini-ITX footprint, a 12 V supply and a need for plenty of serial ports alongside current networking. The DFI ADN171 series answers that brief with Mini-ITX motherboards on Intel Alder Lake-N processors, cooled by a passive heatsink and sized at 170 x 170 mm, so they fit existing Mini-ITX enclosures, kiosks and control cabinets without a mechanical redesign.

Every ADN171 board takes one DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM running single channel, and Intel UHD Graphics support up to three independent displays. The graphics engine decodes HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware, which keeps signage and video playback light on the processor. A discrete TPM is fitted as standard, the watchdog timer is programmable from 1 to 255 seconds, and Realtek ALC888S audio provides line-out.

Six builds make up the range. The ADN171-CB-N50 is the dual-core 6 W entry point with two DisplayPort outputs, and the ADN171-CB-x7213E keeps two cores but moves to the Atom x7213E at 10 W, with VGA, DisplayPort and USB-C display outputs and support for 32 GB of memory. The ADN171-CB-N200 is a quad-core 6 W board and the only one with four USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, while the ADN171-CB-N97 runs four cores at up to 3.6 GHz with 32 GB memory support and three rear display outputs. The ADN171-CB-N100 pairs the Intel N100 with two DisplayPort outputs and USB-C, and the ADN171-CB-i3-N305 brings eight cores at 15 W with DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0.

Across the range, two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports handle networking, and six COM ports on internal headers (two RS-232/422/485 and four RS-232) plus an 8-bit DIO connect meters, PLCs and legacy equipment. Expansion is an M.2 B-key with a Nano SIM socket for an SSD or cellular module, an M.2 E-key for wireless, an M.2 A-key for DFI’s optional M2A display module, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 slot wired at x2 Gen3.

Power comes in at 12 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector, and the boards run from -5 to 65 °C, so they suit indoor cabinets, kiosks and equipment rooms. DFI lists CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance, with support for Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux. For a 9 to 36 V input, the same board is available as the ADN173.
