DFI ADN173-CB-x7213E Intel Atom x7213E Mini-ITX SBC with 9 to 36 V DC Input and Dual 2.5GbE

A packaging machine or test rig built around a 24 V cabinet supply needs a board that takes that rail directly, and often more memory than processor. The ADN173-CB-x7213E is the dual-core Atom member of the DFI ADN173 range of Mini-ITX SBCs, accepting 9 to 36 V DC with support for 32 GB of DDR5.

The Intel Atom x7213E is an Alder Lake-N processor with two cores at up to 3.2 GHz and a 10 W TDP, paired with Intel UHD Graphics that decode HEVC, VP9, AV1 and AVC in hardware. One DDR5 4800 MHz SO-DIMM holds up to 32 GB, which can cover local recipe databases, historian buffers or a browser-based HMI. For four cores on the same Atom line, the ADN173-CB-x7425E runs at 12 W with a VGA output, and the ADN173-CB-i3-N305 has eight cores for heavier multitasking.

DisplayPort and HDMI 2.0 are on the rear, with a third display available through DFI’s optional M2A module in the M.2 A-key. Two Intel I226V 2.5GbE ports, three USB 3.2 Gen 2 and one USB 2.0 Type-A connect to the network and peripherals, and four USB 2.0 headers, six COM ports (two RS-232/422/485, four RS-232) and an 8-bit DIO serve devices inside the enclosure. The M.2 B-key with Nano SIM, the M.2 E-key, two SATA 3.0 ports and a PCIe x4 slot at x2 Gen3 take storage and expansion.

The ADN173-CB-x7213E takes 9 to 36 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector and runs from -5 to 65 °C on its passive heatsink. It carries CE, FCC, UKCA, RoHS and KC compliance and supports Windows 10 IoT Enterprise LTSB, Windows 11 and Linux, with a dTPM and watchdog timer fitted.
