DFI ARS101-W880 Intel Core Ultra 200S LGA 1851 Thin Mini-ITX SBC with W880 Chipset, Dual 2.5GbE and 12 V DC Input

Medical imaging carts, inspection stations and slim control consoles often need two things a basic embedded board skips: memory that reports and corrects its own errors, and a way to reach the system when the operating system has stopped responding. The ARS101-W880 is the W880 build in the DFI ARS101 series of Thin Mini-ITX motherboards, and it adds both to a socketed Intel Core Ultra 200S board on a 12 V DC supply.

The LGA 1851 socket takes Arrow Lake-S processors from the Core Ultra 5 225T (10 cores, 35 W) to the Core Ultra 9 285 (24 cores, 65 W), so the same board can be specified for a light HMI or a multi-camera vision task. Two DDR5 SO-DIMMs run in dual channel with ECC support, up to 96 GB and up to 6400 MHz with Core Ultra 7 and 9 processors. Integrated Intel graphics drives HDMI 1.4b, DP++ and a USB-C display output, and DFI’s optional M2A module adds an eDP or LVDS panel.

Two 2.5GbE ports use Intel I226-LM and I226-V controllers, with Intel AMT on the I226-LM port. Five rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A ports, four internal USB 2.0 headers, two RS-232/422/485 headers and 8-bit DIO cover peripherals and machine signals. The PCIe x16 Gen5 slot runs one x16 card or two x8 links, and four M.2 sockets take an NVMe SSD at PCIe Gen4 x4, a cellular module with a Nano SIM, Wi-Fi and the display module, alongside two SATA 3.0 ports with RAID support.

Power arrives at 12 V DC on a barrel jack or 4-pin connector, and the ARS101-W880 operates from -5 to 65 °C with CE, FCC, UKCA and RoHS compliance. ARS101-Q870 keeps AMT and the bifurcating Gen5 slot without ECC and adds a sixth rear USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, while ARS101-H810 is the simpler build for designs that need neither remote management nor x8/x8 cards.
